MTA is pushing on more Metro Rapid, express service in the future but you see, only few passengers on the bus at 5:00PM. 180/181 are always busy and not many number of buses are running here. Why we need more empty rapid buses? May be good for lousy bus drivers because rapid bus won't stop every bus stop. Lot of people are depending on local buses instead of rapid. Disable and old peope are have to wait long time for a local bus is arriving and they have to walk long way to the bus stop.

  • The service is needed and more runs needs to be put onto the local route. The businesses need to advertise public transit by saying that their business is served by MTA route #---. In this case, businesses that get served by MTA bus roue 780 should say, our business is served by MTA route 780. Sometimes, the CEOs of the businesses need to shut up and let the webmasters of the businesses along the route post the bus into on their websites.

  • @Streetcar1743 MTA canceled the weekend service,.

  • the 780 line is needed because the line 180/181 are slow on the route.

  • we just need 380 instead of 780. IMHO

  • I happen to disagree, I think the 780 is a neccesity especially with the rising gas prices. I've ridden the local line 217 on Fairfax many times and happen to think that it is way too slow in comparison. I know it doesn't look that way now, but the 780 can be and is very beneficial, especially since it goes through many different areas

  • well, may be 780 just for rush hrs.

  • To answer your question, yes.I drove the 780 for nearly 6 monthes, especially rush hours, even during non peak hours,my bus was still full seated load. The only time it gets light is usually thru eagle rock, and pasadena, going east bound, west bound its heavy the entire trip to west la,except once you pass wilshire. Its a solid line.

  • @thunder4555 Well online at the MTA website they're selling bags of 10 for $15. Other than that I'm not sure as I use passes more often than tokens

  • @BolivianoOrgulloso question do you know were i can find a bulk of mta bus tokens instead of paying 20 dollars a bag for 10.please respond

  • thats rite in eagle rock on colrado and eagle rock blvd lol.

  • it's needed. During rush hour and midday, the 180/181 is way too slow. Also, it spreads out the load preventing overcrowding. The 180 and 780 should arrive at Vermont and Hollywood and the same time headed east, and they should arrive at Broadway and Brand at the same time headed west.

  • if they extended the 780 to sierra madre villa, it probably wouldnt be empty.
