http://www.homeinspectioncarolina.com Real Estate agents aren't supposed to experts on environmental hazards during the home inspection process. They, like the home inspector are supposed to be aware of some environemental hazards though. Some of the environmental hazards that show up during the home inspection are:

1. Asbestos- Used in roofing, insulation, ceiling and flooring and can be become harmfull if it becomes friable.

2. Radon is oderless gas that come from the the breakdown of harmful radioactive material in the earth such as uranium. Radon exposure has been linked to lung cancer.

3. Lead can cause neurological problems if inhaled or swallowed. Lead was used in pipes and in paint prior to 1978.

4. Carbon Monoxide is a byproduct of combustion. Anyone who has anytime of combustible appliance should have a carbon monoxide detector. Carbon Monoxide inhibits the the bloods ability to transport oxygen to the brain.
