Claire is an excellent actress and IMHO Temple is her life-part. I've got an autistic member in the farther family and I can say she's very convincing - her gestures, stance, facial expressions, mood alternations, panic attacks ... she deserves an award, no doubt.

@virginiatechfanx - Obviously you do not have a child with Autism. If you did, you would realize Temple's speech was a thank you to her mother and an inspiration to everyone in the room. You misread the director's objective which was to show that autistic children are just as thankful to their parents and mentors as "normal" children! Stick to something you KNOW!
