Elvis Bossa Nova: FEVER

This is a hot band that gets together to play every Sunday night at The Local, 396 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto (www.thelocalpub.ca). From L to R, Jason Hay on sax/flute (sitting in for the vacationing vibraphonist Mike Davidson), James Robertson on guitar, Roman Tomé on percussion, Jake Oelrichs on drums, and Brian Kobayakawa on bass.

Elvis Bossa Nova play interesting, usually kickass jazz covers of Elvis tunes. Sometimes what results is completely new music that bears little or no resemblance to the original songs. And sometimes you can tell immediately what Elvis song is being referenced.

It's all good. Sorry about the lighting if it seems a bit dark. Perhaps we can persuade the management to bump up the lights a bit more next time.
