What you need:
Artic Silver 5 thermal Compound-i got from Radioshack
Hardware I got from Lowes Home Improvement:
8 Machine Screws Pan Head Slotted-M5 .80x10-Item #880736
16 Flat Washers-5mm-Item #880765
16 Nylon Washers-#10- Item #881544
Torx T8 and T10
Small Precision screwdriver set
Small Flat Head screwdriver
Big Flat Head screwdriver
Adjustable Wrench
70% Rubbing Alcohol from Walmart and Qtips to clean cpu and gpu

Recommend if you want to clean the dust out Dust Remover from Walmart
You put metal washer on screw then put nylon which goes against the motherboard so on heatsink side put nylon washer then metal washer

@biggrip1967 I never seem to figure out what is causing this to happen I have one that does the same thing no fans come on....I might try a Reflow to see if that Repairs it.

if it does not turn on it means thats something is not correctly plugled i might be the usbport in the front or back check and if the black thingy isnt on one of them then you move the yellow cablesin the usb portsto make them not to touch anything and i will turn on 90% of the time it works

I have a problem see if anyone can help..

My Xbox doesn't get red light but it over heats. The reason I know that is because I can play for around 30 minutes that the screen starts changing colors.. The fans turn on hard. I can keep playing like that but if i turn it off then on again all four lights will turn on and i can here the audio but it wont show. If i overheat it a couple of minutes ill work again -_- Anyone know if this would work for me ? Or is there a different solution ?

okay, so i did everything that you did, but when i turned it on i got 4 red lights... i left it on for about 5 minutes with the fan blocked, turned it back on, and they are all still there... what did i do wrong, or do i need to do...?

My xbox kept on getting 2 rrod now. I fixed the rrod like two years ago so I decided to reappply the thermal paste. At first I was getting 2 red lights, then I decided to tighten the heatsink and now I get three red lights and it wont over heat what do?
