When my oldest daughter came to visit us from NY, she and her sister both wanted to learn how to cook Puerto Rican Specialty Dishes.
They received their instruction from their grandmother, my mom and got their hands into it.

  • Hello curiousplay

We do not use saffron in this recipe. I think you are mistaking it for Sazón which is simply a condiment made by Goya.

Unfortunately, a detailed recipe is not possible, everyone tends to tweak this recipe to their own creativity and taste.

    Where is your restaurant at?

THANKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO ...

  • Thank you for posting the video. Very instructive and entertaining. One thing I noticed though that I'd like to point out is that when forming the massa, it may be best to use plantain leaves or, if not available, wax paper. This may help when forming the massa. Thanks again.

  • Thank you for this video- i am a firm believer of keeping our Puerto Rican traditions alive....this is something that our grandparents have done- Our parents & now it's up to us to teach the next generation "our children"....this video hit home for me. Thanx.

  • Grandmom know how to cook!!!

  • This was a Great video. Theirs nothing like soul food. Now I want a alcapuria. I wanted to give you a little tip someone told me. If you make the masa the day before and put it in a container in the fridge its easyer to work with. But Great video I love it.

  • I think this is a great video! It's nice to see people still passing down this puerto rican tradition. God bless u and ur family!
