Finally a video of Alina in the Nutcracker! I'm glad the Mariinsky retains thie Vainonen production - this is my favorite choreography for the Sugar Plum Fairy variation.

This really is a performance to treasure! I love this choreography and Somova is wonderfully joyful, radiant and musical, delicate in her variation, and showing exquisite Vaganova trained arms and hands. Great partnering from Shklyarov too, who has both presence and nobility without ever overshadowing his ballerina. I loved it - thank you so much!
