Taken from Rendezvous Houston, Broadcast in 1986 Copyright remains with the original Artist and broadcaster. This Particular Part was in memory of his good friend Ron McNair. Shown here as a tribute to all those involved in what for me is a superb piece of music and entertainment history. • Just clarifying But Ron Mcnair Was Part of the Challenger team right, And was in the Explosion?

  • Yes he was on the challenger team.

  • The pt3 only refers to the running order of the tape that I have posted, so people can view it in the right order if they wish,it's not refering to the actual content, thanks for the observation though. regards

  • It was supposed to be the first musical recording ever made in space.

  • with the piece being played not so long after the challenger disaster, there was probably not a single dry eye left in the audience. so long as this piece gets played, Ron Mc.Nair will live on.

    Challenger crew, may your souls rest in peace.

  • I had the whole thing on audio cassette, simulcast! Damn...too many house moves :(

  • There was talk about canceling the concert after what happened. Thank goodness they didn't. It's still as raw on the emotions today, even after 23 years.

  • I have a VHS tape of it. Too bad I don't have a PAL VCR ::(

  • If this piece wasn't played on space by Ron Mcnair due to the tradegy, then what is now the first music ever played in space with an instrument.

  • Thanks for the post man, it is a seriouslly wonderfull interpretation! Beutiful!
