Mary Alice Hill Is An Inspiration For Others
A pioneer for women's equality in college athletics Mary Alice Hill began her distinguished career in 1972 as the Director of Women's Athletics. She was the first women to receive this authoritative title from Colorado State University.

Mary Alice Hill is now a motivational speaker and has experiences from her days as a leader to inspire others. In 1973 she was able to implement Athletic Scholarships for women for the first time in United States history. She also added them at San Diego State University in 1976. For women motivational speaker Hill changed the path of female athletes permanently with the addition of scholarships.

Inspirational speaker Hill was the coach for Track and Field when two Olympians broke records in Indoor and Outdoor competitions. With her leadership the Colorado State University's Cross Country team received second place during the championship tournament. Again, this was a first for an American college team.

Adding further to her ability as an inspirational speaker, Mary Alice Hill won a momentous lawsuit that had been filed against Colorado State University that gave women new benefits on campuses.

Ms. Hill was the founder of many firsts becoming the first women to be in charge of athletics for both Men and Women in 1978. She established The Council of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators in 1979 and created a Drug and Alcohol Education Program in 1982 with the McDonald Center. She pushed the National Collegiate Athletic Association to incorporate women for opportunities and this move initiated televised events competed by women.

As a motivational speaker Ms. Hill is able to share her days as the first women to become Director of Athletics for Men and Women for San Diego State University, and how it would be another 10 years before another women would receive this position. She can also inspire others with how she was able to move on after being fired from this appointment.

In 1990, Mary Alice Hill was given the position of Director, Recreation Division, Marine Corp Base, Camp Pendleton. She became the first private citizen and the first women to receive this assignment. In 1992 Ms. Hill began Operation Desert Shield to provide support for families of military personnel.

For women motivational speaker Mary Alice Hill has been an advocate requiring equal rights in college's athletic divisions. With a vast experience of doing right for others she is uniquely qualified to provide inspiration with her speaking engagements.
