    Yes i have heard both, that doesn't matter, of course there are differences but the language it's the same and the correct name for it is English, there is no American language, America is a continent not a country so if all the people who live in America speaked the same language it could be called American language but it is not the case. The thing that you are reffering i'ts a particular way of speaking a language.
