Steamboat Stomp - Mark Braud 2006.

Recorded at the 2006 Ascona Jazz Festival in Switzerland we see and hear a top band from New Orleans., Louisiana. They are Mark Brauds New Orleans Jazz Giants. All very schooled musicians, but with a tremendous love for original N.O. jazz.
Mark leads the band on trumpet with Orange Kellin on clarinet. Orange from Sweden settled in NewOrleans in 1966. Tom Fisher clarinet and tenor sax, originally from Chicago was called south first by Banu Gibson. Trombonist Lucien Barbarin, born in New Orleans plays with Preservation Hall JB. Steve Pistorius, piano, has played on the Crescent City River Boats. Richard Moten bass and Shannon Powell drums coplete this fabulous band .
They play a Jelly Roll Morton Red Hot Peppers arrangement from 1926.
