They are owned by the same people but R&D is separate like he said. Just like Ebonite, Hammer, Track, and Columbia. But at the same time this gives them the access to each others toys if they need it. Like getting a coverstock from Track and putting it on a a Hammer. They just won't share a core. And won't say they actually do that.
