The Detroit Red Wings beat the Toronto Maple Leafs in six games in the 1988 Norris Division Final, despite playing without injured captain Steve Yzerman. The Wings got great performances from Petr Klima, Adam Oates, Bob Probert, John Chabot, Jim Nill and others in the series.

I was at the game when Detroit won 8-0. Lots of people were throwing stuff on the ice during the game after the result was pretty much over.
