A local middle school is doing its part to help its students who are homeless.
During the recent cold snap, one-child showed up to school wearing four T-shirts because that's all he had to stay warm, WESH 2 News reported.
The students at Lee Middle School are showing compassion for students in need.
Doris Keeler, the teacher in charge of the program, said during colder days, some students don't have jackets to stay warm.
"We do know that some of them come in wearing three or four T-shirts on cold days to keep themselves warm," Keeler said. "We know of students who last year came in with a blanket wrapped around them."
