@Flyermac Well thats why they made the Il-96 with high bypass turbofans... and they were going to make a Il-96M version wich would be streeched and using P&W turbofans .. it would been as eficient aparently as the A330 but inmune to ETOPS regulations... sadly it was axed.. after Airbus Axed the A340 only the 748 and A380 remain as in production 4 engines..
