I think that while Bioware really had no idea how to make a coherent story, they did at least make the characters (in ME2) quite decent enough to be appealing.

It's when those characters were regulated to cameos in ME3 that people started to get annoyed. But nothing prepared anyone for the endings. I mean, pro or anti ender alike, no one knew Mass Effect would end up like this. You could've have been the most virulent anti-ME2 guy, and still, you wouldn't have guessed.

I know I didn't, haha.

Gears Effect 3 was bad ending aside. The crucible was an asspull, Tali's face was taken off google, an don't get me started on making us pay extra for the day 1 dlc.

I think the run animation from the first game was better than this. I was a bit more stiff and unnatural, but at least it didn't cause Cave Johnson to laugh at you.

They ought to motion capture a marathon runner instead or make use of free video uploads featuring world class runners as reference. Geez. It looks like Shepard has a wedgie or something...

... what about the script did you not like? the voice-acting was amazing (except martin sheen when he tries to do different voices), there were very little failed deliveries; the questions, the responses and the dramatic speeches felt natural all throughout.

The plot, up until the end, you have to admit is incredible. the way everything converges, the impacts of your choices and character development are nearly as much as you can expect in an epic franchise. unless you're an asshole, of course.

tell me where I said I hated the series? And check the BSN boards the majority there love the games but hate the 3rd for many reasons not just the ending. The script and plot of ME 3 was laughable compared to the previous games, if you believe a magical reaper off switch and a deus ex introduced at the end are excellent and compelling script devices then you really are a moron. Tuchunka and Rannoch I hold my hands up and say "yes great writing there" but thats it.

you have no ground in this argument. the writing and story was nothing like the star wars prequels. at all.

the script and plot are what made the game so compelling, and whether fans liked or disliked the ending, they all agree on that point.

no person would play three games in a series (about 170 hours of content) if they hated it so much. you either liked the games and not the ending or have no life whatsoever.

Oh and just to be clear I was talking about the whole game not just the ending if you bothered to read instead of flying into a fanboy rage and complaining about the justifiable dislike of an ending on par with the star wars prequals, guess a 9 year old like you appreciates how terrible the script and plot was.

didn't say I wanted a fairy tale ending with rainbows and unicorns and everyone dancing in the streets I expected a grim ending, what I didnt care for is a lore breaking plot ridden deus ex mess which we were told we would not get. You know actual closure to the game and for characters where we see the culmination of all our choices and actually see them play out and not cheap watered down cop outs throughout the game to cater to the call of duty community and idiots like you.

you are so full of it. you whiny flip-floppers really piss me off. i'm sorry it didn't end like a fairy-tale with everyone living happily ever after, maybe if you could think on a level deeper than that, you would appreciate the ending. seriously, when you read a book are you always expecting the author to end like every other piece of drivel you would expect a 9-year-old to be reading? stick to multi-player call of duty and spongebob so you don't have to think too hard.
