Why would you sandblast the inside of the engine by not using proper air filters?
The ones you have fitted have a tiny surface area and allow huge bits of dust and dirt through. It always makes me sad when people build a great engine and then shorten it's life by being careless. Fit some proper filters to it that have a large surface area with smaller holes. The same amount or more air would go in, but it would be FILTERED. This would protect the engine and not decrease any performance.

@urbex2007 These are the filters that came with the carbs when I purchased them. I wasn't aware of their mediocre ability to filter the air. I would love to find out which filters your recommend!

How much clearance do you have the oil filter and muffler? Thank you

@brycastillo its close. I have since removed that setup and gone with a remote oil filter pump setup. Now, my filter is mouted to the inner fender, away from the header pipes and the radiant heat!

Engine specs sound great, but that exhaust definitely is not optimal. A quality header and muffler would make way better power.

@vwgrad02 the exhaust has since been upgraded to a merged 1 5/8s competition header setup. Much better performance and sound. I should take another video of the engine in the car! :)
