John Cale was the true genius behind the Velvet´s sound. Considering his further role in producing the debuts of The Stooges, Patti Smith and The Modern Lovers, and practically composing most of Nico´s Marble Index and Desertshore his role in the world of rock is still being mainly ignored: simply The Godfather Of Alternative Music!

I actually prefer this version to the original. So much more haunting. Sounds so archaic, dusty, buried...

This version really stands strongly on its own as a song. Utterly love it.
