I just got this banjo TODAY. I am still learning how to play it.

It's a five string. The six string banjo is a guitar, and the "banjo sound" comes as much from the drone string and the ringing open tunings as it does the body style.

is that a 5 or 6 string banjo??? my uncle and mother both hate playing the 6 string they say for blugrass the 5 is better.
