I doubt Mr. Oher realized his story was going to be manipulated so much. the film's message is" we gave you a car a ahome money and our son to teach you football... now YOU protect us (white Americans), and stay off the streets like all the BAD blacks."

A disgustingly racist movie, which comes across like a sheep in wolfs clothing.

Oher is a victim, an unwilling judas to the black cause. A pity.

@TheOneBigTeam Ok,I understand what you mean and you are right to say that its primarily the parents who are responsible.Children are mirror-images of their parents but also of their society. Who says that his parents' parents were not as bad as them.I still believe that a gouvernment has great influence on people's lifes,on structures like school, education and so on. There are other countries that don't have a high crime rate.And you cannot say that the gouvernment has nothing to do with it.

NOTE: Entertainment license: You have to sum up stories to give the main reason, impact, story, feeling of the situation. This movie is almost 2 hours long or a little more. Everything can't fit. We saw him rescued off the street, taken in, grades improve, prove himself in his gift and opportunities open up for him as well as gain a family that loves him all in 2 hours. I am sure there are so many more touching moments and challenges Michael and his new family met along the way. Read the book.

Thank God for the compassion of hearts. God bless the Tuohy family. There are so many diamonds in the rough in the inner cities and slums that we lose every day. Don't let the Enemy snuff their lights out. Be always sensitive to God's heart of love, He will send someone in your path that needs your love and help. I love you Michael! I thank God for you, you are an inspiration too. There are others who have your same heart who are praying for an opportunity or a way out of their bad situations.
