While it didn't turn out to be a successful race, we had fun nonetheless. The SEAS group of sailboats, including Loa'a Nalu, Haiku, Optiminium, and Jim Green's Lyric, all got off to a great start until, yet again, the wind died, as it so often does in Southeast Alaska. Jim Green, Dione, and myself then motored around the back side of Douglas Island for 4.5 hours. On the way, we saw a pod of killer whales in the distance, a lot of other boats, ran into some light rain, a little sun, and otherwise enjoyed our day together.
