Actually I really like the voice of Brian during this era. And he looked way better than a few years later (and ever since). He also looked saner than a few years later (when Landy took over)

What everyone has to realize is this is recorded 10 years after the song came out and not after only a few but nearly a decade of hard hard drug use. I mean look at his face, the drugs have contorted it. So he actually Had an amazing voice like his brother Carl before his drug use. But even with that being said, I really love this performance. Like a someone below said it's so raw and beautiful. And it's a very gutsy move singing and playing a song like this live and solo.
