STEELHOUSE BLUES
Wish I was a honey bee
Living easy in the honey tree
A little work in the morning, sleep all afternoon
When the sun don't shine no more
All lady bees come and see my stinger
Instead I'm stuck here lonely with the steelhouse blues

Wish I was a fish in the sea
Swimming round, nothing worrying me
Find a home in a warm latitude
I'd be wily, never hesitate
To leave the hook and take the bait
Instead I'm stuck here lonely
With the steelhouse blues

Wish I was a swamp skeeter
Buzzing round the swam cedars
Would'nt pay no union dues
Every day I'd drink my fill
Thanks for supper, Mac, send me a bill
Instead I'm stuck here lonely
With the steelhouse blues

Wish I was a bartender
Or a junkman pulling fenders
Sweeping up, or shining shoes
But the judge, he said son
99 before you're done
Guess I'm stuck here lonely with the steelhouse blues
