Populous : The Begining
Bullfrog
1998
The third Populous was a good game. The maps were like worlds, with no corner/limit edge. You played a shaman from a tribe and you had to destroy the other tribe, with different spells. It was very different from a classic RTS because you have no ressources to harvest in this game. Expect wood for buildings, but unless you play like a gosu online you don't really have to take care of that. Main thing is to build houses to have more Braves, then you can turn them into warriors /firewarriors /priests or spy. And none of them should be idle. When they are doing somthing, they regen your mana faster (that's why i make them patrolling on themselves). Also you can't build where you want. Only near your circle and other buildings. Expect for the tower. Actually it's an important part of the game because when you lose buildings, well, you have to rebuild them (for your population) but when a building is destroyed, you can't build where it was, because it turns into "damaged ground".
Here is one of the first missions of the game, where you learn the tornado spell. There is a lot of spells like Volcano and stuff, and you can really change the shape of the world, and that's pretty cool.
Maybe i'll do another video of this game because i just love it.
Btw i had some strange bugs while recording so i miss clic a lot. The game music just turns off when i open the world map. It's a shame because the orginial music is quite cool and fits well. So i put on some Dead Can Dance songs (Bird and Cantara). I guess it fits well too.
Check popre.net for more about this game.
Did you record with Fraps?
My game lags horribly when I try to record with Fraps, but it seems to run smoothly for you.

Yes, I used Fraps, and I had a lot of trouble. You need to lower the game resolution (640x480) and lower the size of recording in Fraps (change from full size to half size). If the recording sounds ok, it was really hard to play. Hope I helped, gl =)
