Your right on the money my friend, the music industry is going down hill BIGTIME but maybe with websites like youtube new artists will come through & lead the way to a brighter future where more music has emotional content & not music that's driven by the big companys out to make a quick buck...Great video ;D

Great video Mike. I agree with most of what you are saying. I do like some of the new music that I hear on popular radio stations...but yes most of it sucks. The true Musicians like Ralph Buckley go sadly unheard by the masses..This is changing slowly with great resources like YouTube, where people can hear all kinds of really great music by musicians who will never be heard on Radio stations.

I have a couple of guilty pleasures. Bowie, Queen, Prince. Ok, not that guilty. Bowie's my personal rock hero. But most of the music I listen to is far from mainstream, which is where all the good stuff is happening. it seems to me like all the bands that people love now are all watered down, inferior versions of bands that were overlooked or shunned by the industry decades ago!

Great column great video, and everything you said about the mainstream music industry is so on the mark, the good thing about Y/T is the fact we can find great music that would be otherwise ignored.
