40 mph with a 4500kv motor +12T pinion + 40T spur gear + 2s lipo is just impossible. In theory you could get up to 32mph max with such a setup...

Yes, I'm running 2s, You need to be careful with this motor on gearing, I'm running 12T pinion and on a 150 feet straight away, I get up to 40 mph. After 7 minutes race, the temp is between 130 to 140. This motor is very efficient and I can run 12 minutes on a 5000mah 2s 40C pack.

@wckdsti sick! 40mph only with 12T. Do you order it directly from castle? sadly it's a very expensive motor :S

@MrPicaldy Yes, it is expensive, but I got it for $160 from offshore electrics , $40 cheaper than ordering from Neu.
