Congressman Sander Levin (MI-12) speaking in support of H.R. 3548 to extend Unemployment Insurance an additional 13 weeks for people in states with unemployment rates above 8.5 percent.
I heard last night on the news the 13-week extension has been put on hold. There's been people protesting in other states that there unemployment rate is lower than 8.5% that need the extension as well, I personally think they should extend it for 26-weeks. Does congress think the unemployment situation going to turn around with a the 13-week extension?
I hope something is done for the people who's unemployment runs out after December 26 as there is no extension for any of these people. I know its months away but where I live the employment section in the paper isn't even half a page.
