Parody created by Recog, you can find other videos of theirs searching the same name on NicoNico.

Found this on NicoNico a few months back, and have been working on a translation on and off up until now - it is by NO MEANS a perfect translation, so any comments regarding translation errors and questions are appreciated! Its basically a parody of Yazima Beauty Salon - Nihon No Mikata "We Come From Nevada", which itself is chock-full of word play and mispronunciation poking fun at foreigners' misuse of Japanese (---see the irony). Look for it if you get a chance!

Regarding the spell names, I used the NES versions in sentences, as they fit better with the overall gist of the sentence. Thwack and Whack are the same as Defeat and Beat - The other spells I mixed up the names for both generations. ;D

Many thanks to Enigmaopoeia for helping this newbie with translation help, and sharing so many other translations! And a hello to the people at Dragon's Den!

  • Oh, wait, question: There's a single line (so far as I can tell) that wasn't translated. At the start, after (Princess Love). I guess Torneko is saying it?

    So...what's it say?

  • Well, I'm still a newbie at translating (no classes!), and so I couldn't figure out the shorthand for KS (like be our equivalent for JK is "Joking/Just Kidding"). It could be a cut off of ksk = KaSoKu = 加速(Acceleration), but without that last k, I couldn't be absolutely sure. Yome-san can be wife/bride/daughter in law, BICCHI is a phonetic spelling of bitch, and 言うな = don't say. So it could be "Don't say wife bitch." But with the KSが, we're missing that last bit of the meaning.

  • Ahahahaha this is amaaazing.

Personally I always used Kryll & Ragnar (well, him or Alena).

Torneko saved the day in the final battle, too

  • Thank you! :D Though if you ever had the chance to play the NES version it makes a little more sense, since you could only use the game's AI system back then :3. (Especially Cristo, as sometimes the AI would have him use Beat/Defeat over and over again on Necrosaro of all bosses. XD)

  • This is great, I love the translation work you have put into this! And the creator's name is indeed recog.

"Are we going to be in coffins this entire trip?" Best line evah! <3

  • Thank you! And also thanks for confirming the creator's name - I wasn't 100% sure, but now I know. :D

Perhaps it was a speed run game. XD

  • Where can I download this?

  • >keeping Ragnar in the wagon

I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

  • @shion255 thats what it was made for ;DQ FOR EVER!!

  • @unabletowatchmits This was a design choice, it was the hero's 'special power' that let him direct his team mates abilities at the end of the game, and a neat one.

  • I always thought the CPU control was half the fun. It made the game unique and added difficulty. Realism too. I mean seriously, if you tried to control a Ragtag Bunch Of Misfits, would they really do everything you asked them to?

  • DQ nerds united.

  • Great, simply great lol

  • Haha, I loved cristo till he learned beat/defeat. Then It was all about nara or hero playing healer. Till nara runs low on mp then shove her in the wagon and if everyone dies, she revives us all.

Brey became more useful in the DS version though, considering you could contro lhim and all. Same with Cristo.

  • Hahaha I always used Cristo (not used to the Americanized names yet). Ragnar and Torneko...not so much. I like having a balanced team. Having the team of: Hero, Alena, Cristo (dag gom it), and Mara/Brey (Maya/Borya) is really good. Just saying for all of you who can't beat Pisaro or any other major boss in Chapter 5.
