Walt Disney explains his invention. Probably the most advanced tool ever made in the field of animation. (At least until the computer was made.)

Everything is ok except the bottom level. What's wrong down there, Alan?
I was moving it the wrong way. Dick.

Yeah, sucks that disney no longer supports 2-d animation. They recently cut the whole department.

Actually cels haven't been used much since Disney developed the CAPS process in the early 1990s, that is, in short, making drawings on paper and then scanning them to be processed in a computer for digital ink and paint. Which in turn was replaced by the usage of specialized software and graphics tablets. In my opinion, this only facilitates the process of hand-drawn animation, removing all the technical obstacles for the artist, allowing them to focus on the actual drawing.

Animators now a days don't know how easy we got it.
This camera was a marvel back then, but now with modern technology it's become completely obsolete
