I think I have an answer to the question roseanne poses: almost all of us positions of social privilege and are victims of oppression simultaneously. gay men have the male privilege of seeing and treating women as objects to be looked at for their aesthetic pleasure, just as roseanne has the heterosexual privilege of making sweeping generalizations about gay men, and using the stereotype of the catty, fashion-obsessed gay man, and having taken as fact.
