Lightning!
Could she save her? Was it too late?
Vanille called out to her. The response was hurtful but it was exactly what she expected. "The whole world's out to get us. I can barely keep myself alive. Let alone some kid!" Her childhood friend, her big sister, role model, had changed. They used to be the best of friends but Lightning always wanted something bigger, better.
It was a time of war humans versus demons. Lightning, being a half-demon, was expected to pick a side and she picked demons. She began treating Vanille like a lesser. The humans like her old friend didn't deserve to exist anymore.
The young redhead didn't need a Summoners help to see that she had lost her friend forever? She almost thought so but Vanille knew that there was a pinch of light left in her demon heart that she could find and multiply.
She went to the demon side of the country, in hopes she could win her friend back. She was caught and taken to Lightning. "Humans are tools" she said to the demons that captured Vanille. "I'm not gonna die for one of them" Then before walking away she added "Destroy it"
She ran. Away from the demons. Away from her friend. Away from the traitor she had known called Lightning.
She reached a meadow just beyond the border of the demon country. She admired the flowers and wondered. Maybe the Summoner was right; maybe she had lost Lightning.
After 2 years, the war ends. Vanille is the warrior to lead the humans to victory. As she and the other warriors come back, she smiles because she sees her real friends waiting for her.
(Not telling ya the real story lol)
