In July, 2009, Brooklyns Black community was to have its first green jobs training program and vocational school, The Living Classroom Institute. Three days before the training was to begin, the City University of New York notified the school the students would not be allowed to take the certification examinations, as they had promised.

Mayor Bloomberg was asked to intervene but refused. Mayor Bloomberg airs millions of dollars in television commercials touting his efforts to create green jobs in the city, but when it comes to the Black community training itself for the future green jobs, Mayor Bloomberg is silent. Green jobs training and vocational training mean jobs and economic opportunity for the Black community. Tell Mayor Bloomberg to help The Living Classroom Institute.

Tell Mayor Bloomberg to meet with the Black Economic Advocacy Party and the Black community to help redevelop the economic condition of the Black community.

  • I am so over racist black people complaining.

  • man I was raised too white to be treated like this.. it's a shocker for me.. man I can't believe it..!!

  • Cont. If the city is funding the program but haven't receive money to pay from the government then project goes belly up. The Administration has just based a bill to keep its light on so it is no telling when this Energy issue will get back to the floor in the House with this new Congress. We have to keep in mind that everything has changed with the Republican major.

  • There is a bigger issue here with those of affordability to purchase such green technology in this type of economy. On the East coast their is a problem with the locations of wind turbans so quite naturally speaking there is even more of an issue with the demand for workers of that field. It seem that the person more at fault here is President Obama not Major Bloomberg because he merely is responisble for initating talks for such purpose with meeting of college board.
