Teens Against Toxins holds a bake sale to raise money for Boeing to help the progress of the nuclear waste clean up in the hills surrounding the San Fernando, Simi, and Conejo Valleys. The company, who has filed a law suit against the state of CA to override the clean up standards of the site set in the law that was passed in the previous year called SB 990. They claim that such a clean up would "hurt them financially". When presented with the check of $99.31 however, Boeing refused the money. The funds from the bake sale are now to be donated to cancer research.
If they want to pitch in and help out the cause, acquire some gieger counters and head West past gate at Roscoe and Valley circle. The fencing indicating private property protects an old stream bed where runoff would have accumulated after 50+ years of rains. If you probe this area you could be rewarded with spots the authorities neglected to clean up but you will need to explain why you were tresspassing.
