Just gonna throw this one out there...I'm 18 years old. Live in the generation that you all hate so much. I'm no punk, I strongly dislike a lot of the popular music that is around today. I can't stand most kids at my college. Think life is all about getting laid and drinking/smoking. I do drink on occasion, maybe once every two months, but I control it. Most people can't treat others with respect. Well I want you all to know, I'm sick of being stereotyped by all this shit. There is exceptions..

Damn this guy had some talent. Whether or not it's supernatural is up to you, but I personally think he was just fucking good at playin some guitar, and belching out some emotion.

@czykeith exactly. Robert Johnson had practically zero popular acclaim during his lifetime, people only realized how unbelievably talented he was when later musicians came along who were influenced by his music

Robert Johnson was an exceptional innovator. He died very young...27ish.

A remarkable body of work...especially considering he couldn't record in ANY of the recording studios of that time...other than the occasional Black roadhouse.

Can you imagine the body of work he would have created had he not suffered the injustice and indignity of segregation!? What a pitiful and tragic waste.

@warriorlax3502 Dude, you had me all the way up to the verb/noun issue. Regardless, I know a lot of youth like you. I support them and their future and yours. Have a good one. There was just as much bad music in the Golden Era (?) as there is now. Popular music has never been about talent.

@warriorlax3502 Not all of the popular stuff is awful, but a lot is. I'll listen to almost everything, but I never got into the really old blues music that much. I've only recently relearned how great it is. I guess part of it is that I've recently fallen in love with folk music (Neil Young, Mumford and Sons, Simon and Garfunkel, etc.) and old blues music is very similar to that style.
