Hi. Sorry for some of the moments in the film were the camera either did not focus right (only manual focus is allowed in the camera for recording) or some of the flawed moments in the film or the random moments in the film.
Basically, my wii cannot read any disc you put inside. I am not sure whether it is because the discs are majorly scratched or that the wii's hardware disc reading hardware has gone bad. I tried out the following games (all NTSC versions, almost equally scratched out, all failed to be read.):
-Mario Kart Double Dash!!! (Nintendo Gamecube, majorly scratched, nearly beyond repair)
-Wii Sports (Nintendo Wii, majorly scratched)
-Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo Wii, majorly scratched, nearly equal to Wii Sports disc)
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Nintendo Wii, some scratches, dual-layered disc)
In the beginning of the video, I show the wii being start up so you can see how this problem is right when the wii starts up. Next, I go to the wii channel and before I inserted the discs, I show you guys how each disc is in condition so you can truly see how scratched up they are. Also, I show you guys the discs being put in so you can see that I am not just using a different disc to trick you guys. I was using some kitchen tongs with a handkerchief to insert the disc because I did not want my full arm to be exposed to the camera and it was a safer option for me compared to using my hand to insert the disc with. Then I would move the camera to show the full screen of what is happening at the disc channel at the moment each time. When I move on to the next disc, I repeat the process until I reach to the last disc. Afterwards, I was showing some random stuff in my room and then a table with other stuff. I also show all of the following stuff used when I was trying to clean/ take out scratches from the discs (all methods failed in every combination I have tried, mostly with Mario Kart Double Dash!!!)
-Water (ordinary/regular, tap, flitered, de-ionized, warm, cold and hot of all waters)
-Monster Screenclean liquid (also known as de-ionized water)
-Microfiber cloth (from Monster TV screenclean kit)
-Soft, damped cloth (from Samsung TV)
-Scratch Out! (not shown in video, forgot to put it in)
-Crest Toothpaste ((Plus Scope Minty Fresh Liquid Gel) and (Total Advanced Whitening)
Then I showed you guys an actual performance of using the offical Wii Lens Cleaning Kit from Nintendo. Again, sorry for the poor macro focus quality going on (again, I was only allowed to set it to one type of focus and that was for the TV.) I performed the instructions exactly to how they wanted me to do it. Then I used it inside the wii correctly (again I am really sorry for the weird camera focusing and the digital noise going on. Come on not everything is perfect.) Needless to say that that wii lens cleaner kit also failed. I don't know what to do though. Get new wii discs, send wii to nintendo, I really do not know what to do now. Any suggestions would be fine except for the following:
-"Hack your wii or mod it." (I refuse to put any modding/hacking records on my wii. They may not work or lead to hidden affects/viruses and it's complicated. I might have to send my wii to nintendo anyways and if they see the hacking/modding history, they may have a right to refuse repairs for me and notice that I am abusing the system.
-"Rent a disc, swap out the bad disc with the rented disc and return it with the bad disc." (Again, I refuse to do that. You never know when you might find that smart store clerk that really inspects the rented discs and if they notice that I swapped out the disc, I could be charged money, refused service, wanted, maybe sent to court or even arrested or illegal transactions.)
-"Just buy new games" (Nintendo would repair the wii for $75 since my warrentary has expired and their solution could work. If I were to buy new games, it would cost me more than $100 and I still do not know if it is the wii's fault or the discs fault.)
-"Burn in the game to a blank disc and run it from there." (It would be a complicated procedure, still count as hacking and I do not have the discs needed for that procedure nor do I know how to do it. And downloading the illegal game files online could also give me a virus.)
Some other notes about the video:
You may have noticed that I was wearing a paper mask. I do not want viewing audiences to see my face on youtube. The random stuff I put in the video was just for fun. If you saw the Calculus book, then yes, I am in Calculus I at the moment @ San Jose City College, Summer 2010 (Math 71). The book is called, "Calculus: Early Transcendentals, 6th edition by James Stewart"
(Bad English -.-)I can help you with the problem that the disk doesn't work in all Wiis, it will never work! Do you know why? Because your friend's Wii for example is from Canada, and your Wii is from the UK and the CD is from Canada, that's why the CD wont work for you.

@TheSpaceArena Both our wii's were from the same exact gaming shop, exact same color, exact same country version and purchased on the exact same week back in June 2008. Both of our wii's are from USA, and all of our discs are from USA aswell. Everything we have wii related is from USA. My new black wii is from USA, and all my discs work on it. (some proof on the response video has been made).

Oh ok but at least try it and see if it works, I do work for nintendo some of the lasers have been put the other way so when the wii console tries to read the disc it doesnt see the other side, it sees the side that is stamped, this is common because of the PAL and NTSC console versions.
Try that If that doesnt work I will tell you how to fix the disc error problem

@andymadshood Interesting. All my life I have played the wii in the horizontal direction and before the error, I have always been putting in the discs the way it is shown in the video, and it worked for about 2 years.

MAN THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR WII, YOU ARE PUTTING THE DISCS THE WRONG WAY OF COURSE IT ISNT READING THEM
andymadshood 10 months ago
@andymadshood If you have ever used a wii in the horizontal direction. that is how you put the discs in, with the game cube controller slots coming out of the left, label for disc facing up, and the front of the wii facing you. I don't know how I can get more specific than that. And If you want proof, look at the response video for this video.
