  • LOL!!! Kudos to Royce for letting go of the choke the second his student was out, even though he never tapped or stopped fighting. I trained with Royce many years ago when he was still at the torrance academy. Neat guy.

  • @carlsongracieteam

You speak some good truth right here man. I've been training for eleven years and have been put out several times on some nice chokes. A lot of guys think all gi chokes are violent and involve twisting, pinching, and overall brute force. The BEST gi chokes are so slick you don't even realize they are on until the world goes black and you're dreaming.

  • @myslimakastreetfight Go away, Chael.

  • Would the student just not tap or would Royce just not let go?

  • @TheChoada Yeah, he's had a few poundings, but he's rarely lost in the MMA game, even during those poundings. He has much greater records than most and more stamina than most. He's only had two losses, and one was because his femur bone got cracked after going 90 minutes straight with Sakuraba. Hughes is his only legitimate loss. I actually just hung out with Royce this weekend and trained with him myself. Great guy. Oh, and 180 pounds is little when you're outweighed 320 pounds(Akebono). lol.

  • @seclusively He has got the shit beaten out of him for setteling on guard instead of working for a more dominant position. He has always been too passive for mma. His place is sport BJJ and teaching. BTW I know him and received my blue belt from him (im a purple now). Never settle for guard when you can have mount or side mount. Position, position, position! And dont give me this little guy big guy BS. 180 pounds isnt little, its average. I have seen some little dudes dominate larger opponents.

  • @TheChoada Nah, Royce just casually fell into guard on purpose. lol. He does that. He always plans his next move before he lets opponents go for the takedown, and that's why the other guy's unconscious after that. lol. Royce could have twisted out and sprawled the lock, but chose not to. Royce will always fight the best on his back, not standing or on top.

  • @GrumpySpanish lol learn to tap out man
