  • @LordHettrick The winner : Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau ? hahahahahahahahahaha

    denota incompetenza...?hahahaha

  • If you call the Karajan version slow, try to listen to the 2nd Fürtwangler again (Siepi).

I think that FUN is an important factor to this aria, as both the lyrics and the music suggest. So while it's a real delight to listen to Siepi, there's not the F of it in his rendition. the ones who both sing it well and sound like they enjoy it are DFD and Pinza, so I choose them. Ghiaurov is very interesting too. And Hampton is dreadful. Oh God.

  • I don't like Dons suffocating in too quick tempo.

    Siepi rules!

  • Pinza: great, third place

Gobbi: his voice sounds evil (I love Gobbi)

    Siepi: deep, second place

    Dieskau: breathes every 2 secs

    Ghiaurov: winner, despite he's Timur

    Ramey: Karajan's tempo is slow

Hampson: too lyric to be Giovanni, fine though

    Hagegard: better than Hampson

Skovhus: nice to meet him, i liked his singing

  • @mongemark sto ancora ridendo per il "farai belar"...!

  • Siepi.

ghiaurov e ramey non sono malaccio, comunque. Peccato che pinza sia troppo veloce!

  • Siepi, Dieskau e Ghiaurov!

  • 1. Ruggero Raimondi (even if he isn't on this list)

    2. Håkan Hagegård

    3. Thomas Hampson

I'm a bit influenced by the fact that I saw (and heard) Hagegård doing a stunning portrait of Don G at Drottningholm Court Theatre a little more than 20 years ago. He took this part from elegance to total dispair.

And maybe Siepi for his SUPERB voice,. although not in this part...

  • 1. Ezio Pinza

    2. Cesare Siepi

    3. Hakan Hagegard

Tito Gobbi's is not the voice I would imagine in the part, but he brings his usual intelligence. None of the others strike me as particularly successful. Isn't Siepi's voice incredible?

  • Nicolai Ghiaurov wins by faaar

  • @Makenor13 beh... qui non so cosa hanno fatto alla registrazione, ma qui la voce è troppo scura...
