Yes, Drum Majors are supposed to be the senior NCO's in the Corps of Drums, but he is definately not. They certainly have their reasons. Or such a man will leave the Army, but he doesn't; or he remains in active service, which he is does not; and in that case they founded a new title for him, never being given to someone before, Drum Major Household Division, hahahaha, what a joke. and so that is an office job which means you have to lead one of the Bands.

Isn't the Drum Major supposed to be the senior non-commissioned officer of the Corps of Drums (which are very special because they are professional and front-line soldiers first and foremost!)?

Maybe now he's regarded as 'part of the band,' since he's no longer a regular soldier.
Which sounds silly and a little bit far fetched but I'm sure they have their reasons. :)

I really hate his appearance. Every video here on youtube shows him, it is annoying. As I said he is not a regular soldier any more and I wish that he is to be replaced very soon as I thought HM Guards were professional and frontline soldiers FIRST AND FOREMOST.

That fat cow is always and every part of the Guard Change, damn, it is boring. He is the Drum Major in front of the first Band.
