  • Jim died spt. 20th 73. a thursday night. I remember the radio saying a couple days later, guess the news was slower then.Ironically this single was released the same day.The album was released Dec. His music brings me back to a better time. I was a teen then. still love it now! He was a true musician/storyteller. Something you dont see much these days. Long live Jims music and lots of other great music and true musicians of the 70s. Never be another music decade like that one!

  • Modern music is for the most part awful. I am a teenager who wishes he gre up in the 70s!

  • i can't imagine what it must have been like to have music like this coming out every day..

  • I love those pants!

  • 60 people are letting life pass them by.

  • jim totally has that john lennon type stage presence.. cool

  • "Moving ahead so life won't pass me by." Such a brilliant man, and something I struggle to do everyday...

  • Go to PBS they have a couple of hours of music with jim.

  • Its good to see over 2 mil views. Such a great musican. Just him and Maury couple guitars and a shitload of talent. Cant imagine this generation producing such amazing work. Not that talent isnt out there. the world of music has changed. mass produced studio bullshit. The 70s brought so much great music/talent. we had so much, life was so simple.we had the 60s musicans,50s revival and the future 80s stars in one wonderfull decade. glad i lived through it! miss it dearly. My youth was FANTASTIC!!!

  • Like my Daddy did... :)

  • SON-OF-GUN; JUST MADE IT!!! In 1973 "I Got A Name" peaked at No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 17 weeks in the Top 100...

It was the theme song for the 1973 movie "The Last American Hero" and was featured in the movies "The Ice Storm" and "Invincible"...

This record was sandwiched between two No. 1 records by Jim Croce; "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "Time In A Bottle"...
