In this video I diagnose and repair a carrier latch on a Remington 1100 semi-automatic shotgun. The carrier would periodically jam and disable the bolt release and the carrier. The repair was very simple.

  • I sure did not like the idea of him loading what looked like a live round in the kitchen of his house!! Even though it did not load into the chamber.

  • @service1956 The shells in this video were live.

  • I had the same problem after performing disassembly and then re-assembling the carrier. Must have bent that carrier latch. I found your video very useful. It is great to be living during the time of YouTube DIY repair!

  • @FunJr Thanks. The first thing I do when something needs fixed is do a google search.

  • @Mars1952 - Just wanted to say thanks for this Vid. Great Help! I have the same problem with my 1100. Can't wait to go home and fix it....so annoying when it catches\sticks!!!!! Especially when I am shooting Sporting clays.

  • you tube has the answer for everything ,, your video was great very i nearly had the same problem except my PUSH was un-hooking it self from the carrier after watching ur video and STARING at the workings of the push and carrier i figured out the latch pin holding the push must of some how gotten a little bent ,locked it in the fully open position and tapped it carefully back , i emailed Remington wit the serial no it my first gun and they told me it was made 1982 too still in great nick,IRELAND

  • @waslig13 I think that when you say that your chamber is open you are saying that your bolt is in the locked open position. Without seeing your gun I would guess that the tap on the carrier button is not quite in the correct position. Try bending the tab a little more toward the center of the gun.

  • I literally had this same issue a few days ago. the carrier button tab got caught in the hole near the pivot. i had to work it back into the correct path.

my question for you is that after i repaired the carrier tab button, my carrier and feeder work fine, but when i have the chamber open and literally tilt the barrel down the chamber shuts. i am trying to figure out what besides the carrier would cause this and what i might be able to do to fix it. (same style 1100)

  • @angryadrien Well the lighting was good and she is out of town. Don't tell her!....
