I'm sick of this 'Veganism saves the world' rubbish. What are all the people who live in regions which CAN'T grow enough edible plants going to eat in your animal-cuddling Utopia? Will Innuits be flying in soy burgers? Will Aboriginals be ordering tofu by mail order? Will half of Africa be tucking into mock-duck? And what about the animals displaced to clear farmland for all the extra veggies? And what about the billions of lesser animals killed in pest control to grow veg? Veganism is nonsense.

ech1dna is clearly uninformed. The primary diet in third world countries is vegan and for one pound of meat it takes acres of land to support that. It appears it is more important for you to get your slab of dead carcass than to get the facts straight. science will tell you that we are omnivores i.e. designed to eat both animals and plants. In the same way lions eat antelope, we eat chicken and other meat, and fish. It is not cruel, it is completely natural, and it is actually quite unhealthy to have a meat free diet. We have developed far enough to have very in-depth feelings, and thats why i can understand people not wanting to kill animals, but, to be honest, they don't have a clue whats going on, they don't get sad, and it is all pain free
