The short film that wins the "Golden Spike" award at festival "Lavori in Corto 2010" is "The Contest" by Giovanni Meola for having told through a lively parody, the complex world of the Mafia, masterfully interwoven with the world of diversity.

Synopsis:
a very powerful boss wants to eliminate its most bitter rival, but to do decide to hold a "competition rusles" between the best killer of his fierce clan. The proof of address will be reading a poem. The Mafia as it is never shown, surreal, ironic, as it is now becoming the reality.

Trama del film:
Il Gran Boss, che nessuno ha mai visto in faccia, vuole eliminare il suo più acerrimo rivale e per farlo decide di indire un 'bando di concorso' aperto ai migliori killer del suo feroce clan. La prova da affrontare però non sarà di abilità fisica, con le armi o in qualche modo violenta, come si aspettano gli stessi killer selezionati, bensì la lettura...di una poesia. Tra i killer selezionati c'è tuttavia uno strano e imprevisto infiltrato.
