ESBs Commitment to Become Carbon Neutral by 2035 was selected by Business in the Community Ireland in 2009 as an excellent example of a long-term commitment to bring about real and lasting change that will have a significantly positive impact. A comprehensive sustainability strategy has been implemented, accompanied by a thorough process of staff and customer engagement. Making an ambitious commitment like this shows real leadership on behalf of the ESB and it is our hope that many other companies will follow suit to enable Ireland Inc to be a world leader among competitive, low carbon economies.

Every year, Business in the Community Ireland collates examples of best practice in corporate responsibility in its member companies.
