My wife and I went to Lake Hope State Park, www.lakehopestatepark.com, to participate in hand-feeding hummingbirds. The feeders are a flower holder vial filled with sugar water (4 parts water to 1 part sugar) and wrapped with a red pipe cleaner. They do this each Wednesday and Saturday during the summer. Try it! Odds are, you'll have fun. ;-)

  • I would love to see a hummingbird maneuvering back and forth (changing directions really fast) in slow motion. It amazes me how quickly they can change directions. It would be really neat seeing how they do can do that :/

  • I'd love to do that, but don't have a slo-mo camcorder.

  • This is wonderful, especially the boy and the hummingbirds. Where in Ohio is this? I must try this. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!

  • Lake Hope State Park is in southeastern Ohio. It's roughly 25-30 miles east of Chillicothe, and a few miles southeast of Hocking Hills State Park. I tried to put a link to it on Google Maps, but YouTube doesn't seem to allow URLs in comments.

  • Kudos to your wife; those are some great shots!

  • Thanks. My wife shot the video in the first part (from about 19 - 40 seconds) with one hand while holding the vial in the other. I shot all the stills and the rest of the video and edited it.
