i liked the song and i liked most of the video, but the "no war" demonstrants in the end...i don't think they fit here. the song is about lonelyness, desperation and the popular anti-war movement doesn't quite fit this in my opinion.

The images he uses are all political in nature some of which is war footage. Come back and comment when your no longer a NIN rookie.

@5hutup I think the song is about him getting over things that were holding him back (drugs, social anxiety etc), but in the live performance he applies it to the wider context of human conflict rather than personal conflict. In other words I think you're both right, blah blah

If it wasn't for all the attitudes, lies, predujizzm (dno how thats spelled), RELIGION (and fucking believe me, i know religion on the bottom line stands for peace, but it's also created for power, thus keeping human minds stuck), the whole friggin system itself TODAY creates these humans. We can either keep on doing this, or we can try to have an full understanding of what we are and what we want to achieve.
