I decided to go into the Victorian chapel on the grounds of Mt. Hope Cemetery, to document its architecture, layout, etc . . . It was vastly more beautiful than anything for which I could have hoped. Please, if you are interested in this, do not hesitate to email me for more information and photos.

  • This Chapel is simply stunning ! ! why has it been left to the elements?? It deserves to be restored and enjoyed ! ! What is the name of the song being sung in the video, and who is singing it??

  • @dannyzad17 The song is "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," from Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera. The group that is singing in this particular recording is the Blaenarvon Men's Choir from Wales.

  • @caman211267 The place was stripped of any lead and asbestos in 1972 when it was renovated by the county. Honestly, I don't understand your hostility . . .

And at least this "stupid puttz" knows the different between "your" and "you're." Just saying. If you continue posting vulgar comments I'll have to block you.

  • @caman211267 Please try to think before you leave a comment like this. Do you not think that maybe, just maybe, there's someone who might be hurt or offended by your language? And what's this about asbestos and lead paint in a Victorian chapel that 1. has no paint in it and 2. has no asbestos in it? Some people just enjoy acting the arbiters of decency, and you're one of these. If you're trying to claim some sort of moral ground, try dropping the adolescent language.

  • Sorry, should have read the description once again. Didn't realize it was Rochester NY.

  • Hey, where abouts is the Chapel? Anywhere near John C. Munro International? I didn't know Mt. Hope had such a beautiful Chapel in it. It's really quite sad to see it in such a state :(, but I loved the video, and the music was really pretty too, so thanks! :)

  • ? Who let you in, because to be honest you are lucky you did not get arrested... I live in Rochester and am well aware the chaple is locked and off limits so please explain.

  • @caman211267 you sound like a fool! There is really no reason for you to act the way you are... shame on you!

  • This is so beautiful.. How could it just be abandoned? It just seems such a waste.

  • What a shame that such beautiful churches have fallen into disuse, but the Novus Ordo has no need of them anymore. For the Novus Ordites, all men go to Heaven (except Archbishop Lefebvre and maybe Hitler) so why do we have to pray for the dead? Sick. Wow...the high altar is still there. Once, the beautiful Mass of all ages was said here...once upon that very altar Our Lord was sacrificed; bread and wine became his Body and Soul. Now it lays decaying, weeping the New Order.

  • Ecce! The fruits of Vatican II!!
