While working at Taku Smokers in Juneau Alaska (550 S.Franklin St.) processing fish I captured a minute of the black cod processing line, and subsequently gave a little thought to writing a philosophical poem about Black Cod and their place in the Universe.
Perhaps they deserve more time in poetry than I have given them here; just a minute for a poem and a minute video of the processing line. Yet Black Cod are social schooling creatures with good, fishy lives in the comparatively pure, salty ocean water reaching into the Alexander Archipelago of S.E. Alaska, and are often presented with a certain glory on dinner plates and in sandwiches.
