Wheels on Wide Bay 2007 - 44.80sec pass

My GTR doing a 44.80sec pass at Wheels on Wide Bay 2007 top ten shootout. Got yellow flagged twice which was good for me - warm tyres and brakes (thank you Craig & Mark!!). The full lap starts at 3:15 or thereabouts. The other black GTR which runs after mine is the car of Mark Berry and Russell Newman - a very nicely balanced time attack car.

I broke the engine in the process, it was a calculated risk at least it's my engine to break as I'd never let a customer's engine out in this state of tune - my fuel system was not up to the task (standard intank pump with 660cc injectors), the datalogs show fuel pressure nose diving at just under 7000rpm and I let it spin to 9000rpm with 1.8bar of boost so it's no suprise. Watch the car over the finish line, you'll see black smoke (detonation as the rpm ramped from 8200 - 8900rpm when it was god knows how lean and then blue smoke as the oil made its way up past the rings - despite only having 5 deg of ignition timing around those sites due to the fuel issue I was aware of). I'll find out in a few days when I pull it apart I guess - will update then accordingly.

Compression test showed 135-136-135-142-140-58psi, just did leak down test (engine cold) and found 13-2.5-14-6-2-82% leakdown so my stocker bottom end is finally ready for it's long over due overhaul to get ready for powercruise!! - Remember Wayne "YOU GOT NOTHIN'!!!!!"

i heard that the TP TECHNOLOGY GTR pulled of a 42.5 sec on the last lap .....took out fastest in class!!!!
