  • Are all them children? Oh my God..that's a miracle!

  • I tip my hat to thee sir.

  • That would be like a dream to play for David Shifrin. And on the basste clarinet!

  • No it isn't. It's a stretched A clarinet, also known as a 'basset clarinet'. A basset horn is a completely different animal which a big F clarinet. :)

  • No, that is not why. It's a basset clarinet. It goes down to a low C. The mozart concerto was written specifically for it.

Not to be confused with a basset horn.

  • It looks so big because it is a basset horn.

  • Look at Sabine Meyer's or Sharon Kam's, German style

  • It's a German style clarinet, that is why it is so big.

  • it looks so big because it is a basset horn, which is a clarinet with extended range. It doesn't really matter though, clarinet or basset horn, because he really kicks ass at both

  • How come that grampa's clarinet is so big?
