Two questions... what is hardboard (like is it similar to cardboard) , and do these come painted?

Hardboard is a high density particle board. It is similar to MDF (if you know what that is) but is a bit stronger. Think of it as plywood, but really its very fine sawdust impregnated with glue.

The set comes exactly as shown in the video. Assembled, painted and ready for the table. Thanks for inquiring.
